渡遠荊門外，
來從楚國遊。
山隨平野盡，
江入大荒流。
月下飛天鏡，
雲生結海樓。
仍連故鄉水，
萬里送行舟。

From Hupeh come wandering, lost,
The river by Ching-men we crossed.
The hills died adown in the plain.
The stream flowed away to the main.
The moon's mirror shone in the sky.
The clouds built a sea-palace high.
Alas! for the waters of home
That floated us so far to roam!
